2004 Nobel Peace Laureate

This morning we had the honor of meeting, speaking and sharing Wazimba's project with the Dr. Wangari Maathai, the first African woman to receive the Noble Peace Prize.

Its overwhelming how big Wazimba is getting and how fast its happening!
Very EXCITING!!!

Feeling Hopeless, like a penny with a hole in it!!!

Its Tuesday... we leave in 13 short short short days.
As I sit in the tent and the sun descends on my head- i feel lost and hot!
The phone isn't working!
It seems like something new comes up every minute.
what to do... what to do??

We met an Olympic champion!!!!

While we were in Nyahururu- we had initially planned to stay one night and move on to Maralal. Thankfully a lovely guy called John, who was helping us light our fire told us that Samuel Kamau Wanjiru, Olympic gold medal winner was in town (Nyahururu is his home town)... and there was a event for him in town the next day...
It was excellent! 1000s of people came out on this blazing hot day to see their champion. It was a full blown affair, with a marching band, an MC accompanied by an accordion player and a suit and sun glass wearing security detail! It was hectic!!
We were lucky enough to be there and share the experience!!

Oh ya...Wanjiru came thru in a Hummer!! talk about styling in Nyahururu!
